It won’t change unless and until drivers who refuse to make prams and buggies vacate the dedicated wheelchair space(s). Maybe it’s time for some direct action. If say, five wheelchair users can manage to board a bus and block gangways, refusing to leave it would make a good piece for television news, local radio, local newspapers etc. The “I don’t care what the law says” attitude of some drivers is unacceptable, as is the attitude of taxi drivers refusing to carry guide and other assistant dogs.
I agree. However I don’t intend on letting GoAhead get away with this. I’ve written a letter before action. They discriminated against the wrong guy in this case, because I literally set the Supreme Court precedent. (With a lot of other people’s amazing work.)
